How Do I Discover Peace With God?

Biblical excerpts from the New Living Translation

  • Realize That God Has a Plan for My Life

God loves me and wants me to experience peace in this life and through eternity.

The Scriptures affirm:

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

…My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:10

  • We Have Been Separated From God

Men and women have been created in God’s image but have the freedom of choice to make their own decisions. They find themselves far away from God.

The Scriptures affirm:

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard..” Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

  • Jesus Christ Provides the Way to God

The life, death and resurrection of Jesus gave us a way of meeting God. God showed his love for us on the cross. We need to believe that this is true and make a decision to open our lives to God.

The Scriptures affirm:

“For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2:5

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

  • We Can Respond To This Open Invitation

We can trust that Jesus Christ will make a difference. Jesus came back from the dead and is alive. He lives today in the life of believers. You can invite him into your life.

The Scriptures affirm:

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” Revelation 3:20

” But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God..” John 1:12

  • How To Pray

“I know that I am far away from you Lord. I know I need to be forgiven. I believe that you died for my sins. I want to turn toward you and away from the things that separate us. I invite you into my heart. I want to trust you as Lord and Saviour. Amen.”
